When the sacking of Anwar Ibrahim bruised his administration’s reputation, he had handpicked Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who was regarded as a pious man and nicknamed “Mr Clean”, to be his number two and successor.

But when Abdullah, bolstered by the biggest ever victory for BN in his inaugural general election as prime minister in 2004, decided to deviate from the charted course and carve a legacy for himself, Dr Mahathir Mohamad became livid.

He resolved to take “Mr Clean” to the cleaners. The dagger was unsheathed and plunged into the jugular.

Who says a woman cannot be a BETTER MB!

There is only one word that can describe embattled Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim after he was sacked by his party, PKR over a number of issues.

The main reason, as I see it, is his defiance against the party. Having been such a senior corporate man, Khalid should know that defiance is not acceptable, whether in a commercial or a political organisation.

He had sacked the six Pakatan State Exco for the same reasons, although it was done in a more abrupt manner. Most of us who are watching the entire drama cannot help but ask why Khalid is so desperate as to cling on to the post that was given to him.

One vote for Khalid is one vote for Umno

At the height of the menteri besar crisis, Selangor Umno chairperson Noh Omar, being the opportunist that he is, has so excitedly jumped on the bandwagon of condemning PKR by claiming to have known of Khalid’s wrongdoings all along.

Ironically, just after his master subsequently issued commands for all of Umno’s assemblypersons to throw their unconditional support behind Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim should a vote of no-confidence against the now independent MB be called for in the state legislative assembly, Noh Omar deferentially obliged, of course.

Same goes for their MCA colleagues who are ready to call for a press conference to censure PKR and Pakatan for Khalid’s wrongdoings on the very same day the commands were issued. They have no choice but to relent on an opportunity to score political brownie points. Poor MCA somehow has to remain irrelevant and bow down to their political masters as…

Bukan kali pertama MB Selangor dipecat

Kenapa UMNO Bersungguh Sangat Sokong TSKI?

Dia menjawab:

“Sayang ajk pas pusatku sendiri tak faham sepak terajang politik umno…mereka penuh strategi jahat kita pula tertipu. Mereka mahu TSKI ditukar tapi revers psyco… macam kes Hassan Ali dulu juga…malang lah pas selagi ada mcm ni jadi pemimpin.”

Walaubagaimanapun, sekiranya UMNO benar-benar ingin TSKI jatuh, jalannya amat mudah.

Washing dirty linen in public

PKR has done yet another foolish thing: to wash its dirty linen in public.

The party flipped over Khalid’s past records, and compiled a 50-page report from some of the evidences it managed to find, from the out-of-court settlement with Bank Islam to the housing projects approved by the state government.

Its objective was to tell the entire world that Khalid indeed had an integrity issue, unfit to be the menteri besar.

Sure enough a party that is so selfless as to unearth its own leader’s flaws should by right win the generous applause of the public.

Mkini barred from PM’s office twice in two weeks

For the second time in two weeks today, Malaysiakini was barred from entering the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Putrajaya. The news portal was there to cover Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s press conference at 10am, which was announced by the national news agency Bernama late yesterday.

Those barred included a journalist and a photographer from Malaysiakini, as well as a video journalist from KiniTV, a company under the Malaysiakini group. This journalist was queried on his media agency for the registration process at the entrance to the PMO.

The registration officer, upon being informed that the journalist is from Malaysiakini, gestured to an officer-in-charge, who bore the name tag “Vijay”. Vijay then informed that news portals Malaysiakini and The Malaysian Insider (TMI) are not allowed into the PMO.
